Ross Jagears is a member of Artist Blacksmith’s Association of North America (ABANA) , American Bladesmith Society (ABS), Kansas Knifemaker’s Association (KCKA) and has been working at knifesmithing and blacksmithing for more than fifteen years.
I’m an avid outdoorsman. Along with swinging a hammer, I love to hunt and fish as well. I make my own bamboo fly rods, tie flies, shape long bows out of Osage and work my small Kansas farm.
Forges come in handy for lots of things besides smithing–it so happens that my wife often causes me to fire them up–mainly straightening the lawn mower blades she bends into shapes they aren’t supposed to be in by speed mowing, but it also comes in handy when she’s pregnant, craving steak and the grill is broke!
I have a lovely family that I feel blessed to call my own who are supportive of my craft.
